Nil Corruption is an Espact initiative to support the creation of a corruption-free society and the national vision to be amongst the top 10 cleanest nations in the world by 2030.
The initiative was prompted by s. 17A that was added to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 (MACCA). Section 17A shifts the emphasis on corruption prevention from the enforcement of laws to the education and compliance of anti-corruption laws.
Instead of being adversaries, business organizations are now required to share the responsibility of eliminating corruption by adopting ‘adequate procedures’ to prevent the occurrence of corrupt practices in their business activities.
