The event, which encompassed diverse activities from career talk to vocational skills demonstration, attracted more than 200 students of all flow, from Form 1 to Form 6. This event was organized at SMK (P) Taman Petaling by its Guidance and Counselling Unit on 8 April 2014. ESPACT was invited to present to students ‘The Blender-The Basic Animation programme’; and the guide to technical and vocational education and training.
Blender-The Basic Animation
Students were introduced to computer animation techniques, such as key framing, rigging and posing, path animation, particle system, fluid simulation, deformation, hair, cloth, and soft bodies. Other related topics covered include, mesh modelling, materials, lighting, and texture mapping. Students described this 45 minutes video presenations as an eye-opener for them as they learnt IT and 3D Animation in such a fun way.
A Personal Grooming and sSkincare Moment with ESPACT`s Affiliate
The School of Living Skills (Yayasan Pendidikan & Vocational Wanita Malaysia) was arranged to demonstrate simple techniques for student to learn creating natural-looking makeup looks. Comprehensive steps from face prep, eye make up to pedicure and manicure were shared. The ‘before & after’ make up session impressed students on how powerful a transformative makeup could bring to oneself. The session was fascinating and mesmerizing.
Overall, students found the presentation and demonstration well-conducted and they had gained specialized knowledge. Few students have signed up with ESPACT showing their interest in the Skills Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) programme and the Basic Animation Programme.
With this successful introduction of technical and vocational education and training as a guide, ESPACT is now in the process of coming up with a comprehensive list of "soft skills and vocational programmes to add value to the academic and professional qualifications of the students.
