On 5 August 2020, we published an item of news that the Malaysian Government had decided to allow 3 categories of international students to enter Malaysia. The 3 categories allowed entry were new students, returning students, and mobility students on short terms of study.

Media reports now state that the decision on allowing entry to international students is on hold. The reports say that only continuing students may return to complete their studies.

In light of the new developments, our advice to international students is to contact the universities directly to obtain the correct information about current immigration rules.
