Drafting Contracts for the Institution

Internal and external relationships of a private educational institution are regulated by contract and the provisions of the relevant statutes. Institutional contracts with students and staff are subject to statutory provisions and these have to be borne in mind when the contracts are drafted. Internal regulations of the institution may also have a bearing on the contract, especially contracts with students. Some employees of the institution such as the Chief Executive may have statutory duties that may conflict with the expectations of the institution as an employer. These and other issues incontracting have to be brought to the attention of staff who administer the institution's contract.

This one day course, designed for administrators of educational institutions, examines the special position of the private higher educational institution as a contracting party.
